Bazaar review: Chic Pop @ Zouk, KL
The much hyped Chic Pop bazaar organised by Tongue in Chic took place at Zouk yesterday and today. We popped by in the afternoon to check it out and boy it was fun!
When we arrived, we saw girls walking out of Zouk in plastics bags (which surprise me a bit as I’ve always thought fashion bazaars in Malaysia like to go green and it’s implied that girls should go with their own bags) We greeted the girls, invited to sign-up as got free sample packets of moisturizers from Biotherm and ZA deep cleaning oil.
There were around 50 vendors selling all sort of things, from vintage clothing, home-made lipbalm to old music records. There were plenty of things for the boys too. When I walked in, I already saw a row of stalls which were put closely next to one another. Zouk main room, Velvet Underground, the foyer and even the terrace bars were fill packed with stalls and people! Personally, it was rather a bizarre sight seeing fashion stalls at a club!
Atmosphere & crowd
I was expecting some music (after all it was held in a club) but the air was just filled with chit-chatters of shoppers. The crowd was undeniably good. While it may not be as full as the usual clubs, shoppers were almost shopping shoulder to shoulder. Most stalls were surrounded with people and I find it rather hard to check out the items. It doesn’t help that it was rather dark in Velvet underground. I probably missed buying a lot of stuff because I couldn’t see all the things clearly.
But I love it that I could try on clothes at the restroom. One downside with blogshops is that you can’t touch the items, what more try it? When blogshops goes bazaar which has a restroom, there’s no such problem anymore! I found a cute legging, took it to the restroom to try it on. Just too bad Velvet Underground’s restroom doesnt have a full body miror!
I must also add that indoor bazaars are so much better than the outdoor ones. As its all air-conditioned (except at the Terrace Bar), it was a very comfortable shopping experience. As compare to Urbanscapes in Sentul a few months back, this is so much better.
Some funky things we found
Tees from My Favourite Tees going for RM25!

Handmade vinyl cuffs and chain necklaces from The Kang

Home-made lipbalm from Mimpi

Lightbloks from Blok On! selling for RM 85
Tie-dyed sock holes fro LHLY by Linda

Necklaces from I love Snack food
The birdie headband from The Old Blossom Box

Earrings, necklaces and colourful feather headbands from Chatter-natter
How was it overall?
It was successfully organised event. I was only annoyed that the parking next to Zouk was closed. Thankfully there was a car park opposite Zouk which was 3 minutes walk away from Zouk (longer when you are wearing heels like I did). Other than that, there’s no complains and I’ll definitely go again!
