Bazaar Review : Pinktober

Beth and Prabu, the founders of Artsy Communications have done a tremendous job in organizing Pinktober. After months of efforts and preparations, everything paid off as all of us who were there enjoyed the fantastic line-up of performances from local talents, 50 stalls to shop at, as well as an art exhibition. Although, it was a bit hard to find the venue, that did not stop us from having fun. Do look up for their next event which will be held in December.

WHAT CAN I BUY?

C U R I O

The Survival Store

Who doesn’t know The Survival Store, right? From bags to apparels, the lady behind the online store has an eye on everything pretty, classy and beautiful.  I even bought this high waisted buttoned skirt and I can assure you that no one will ever believe that I bought it for less than RM30!

Cherry Go Round

Talking about massive sales, you can get everything here for as low as RM5. Joni, the owner of Cherry Go Round does not just sell lovely apparels but also a personal stylist. And, the good news is there will be a Christmas sale!

Faloveva’s Closet

Atheera, the owner of Faloveva’s Closet sells the hottest vintage pieces and accessories  at very low prices. Some of them are new and some are preloved. I bought three lovely pieces for RM20!

Frugalmugal

Adam, a goverment officer and Sharyl, an engineer, the owners of Frugalmugal might be serious in their jobs but that did not stop them from getting involved in the Fashion industry. They sell lovely, vintage bags, vintage apparels, shades, accessories and more! There is also an end year sale going on.

Haute District

What can you find at Haute District? The most beautiful sarees that are specially imported from India, amazing designer inspired apparels and Catherine’s own label. The best part is there is a sale going on (Discount up to 80%!)

Rose Handmade

Malaysians are a talented lot. I notice many shops selling handmade items and Rose Handmade is one of them who patiently putting bead by bead to create something unique and is not machine made like most of the things we buy today. Rose, the owner is also selling paintings and “batik”. Interested? Visit Fine Batik.

My Favourite Tees

Looking for cool tees? Visit My Favourite Tees! The tees have the most awesome statements, etc, War Is Over and images, etc , MGMT, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, The Ramones and more. My fav will be the one that Jeremy, the owner wore, Crystal Castles!

See Saws Playground

I really love that millitary jacket! And, guess what, there are more jackets and apparels in different designs and colors. Now, there is a channel inspired jacket up for grab. The bags and accesories are also very eye-catching.

How was it overall?

From my opinion, the event was a success. Soloris Dutamas is a very beautiful place. However, since that the place is still under construction and not conveniently located, a lot of people got lost, including me. Other than that,  there are no complains and I’ll definitely go again!

Fashion finds: Canvas tote bags

Already check out bazaars that are happening this weekend? So many of them today, which to go! We’ve  picked Connaught Bazaar since it’s the first time a bazaar held there. Wait for a write up about that, so you’ll know its worth going to the bazaar tomorrow! And what must you bring to bazaars? Besides cash to buy all the goodies, we should also bring our own shopping bag!

It’s a trend that at bazaars, vendors don’t provide plastic bags (A good trend we think!) We think that plastic bags should be ban altogether and be replaced by paper bags. Agree? Better still, we should all bring our own bags. What’s better than canvas bags where you can fold and put in your usual ‘going-out’ bag?

We’ve found some from some blogshops. You may want to check out Gin & Jacqie’s bag and help support Breast Cancer Welfare Association. 100% of the profits goes back to charity! If you want something handmade and unique, go check out The Seamstress where she personally sew it herself.

Are you going to a bazaar with a canvas bag?

I’m gonna bring to the bazaar a cute environmental friendly bag I bought in Thailand. The fabric is unbleached (better for health and environment) and on it is printed ‘Save our turtles’. How about you?
